About
The guitar is one of the most popular, accessible and expressive instruments on the planet with a notable and continued legacy of influence on our music culture.
I developed a passion for it in my teens. Turning a passion into a profession, I have spent the last decade playing live nationally, recording music and providing both online and one to one teaching services.
TUITION
Learning guitar can be a daunting process, particularly with so much material readily available online. Some very useful, some not so much.
A guitar tutor can help you make sense of it all by filtering out the myths and give you immediate, personal feedback to point you in the right direction.
I teach in a manner that is specifically tailored towards each students personal goals and taste in music, whether that means strumming a few chords to pop songs you like, or getting stuck in to some theory heavy shred.
Lessons can be online over Skype, or in person from my home in Ellon - Aberdeenshire. I also provide a host of video tutorials and resources for all my students to help you get the most out of practice between weeks.

I have been getting guitar lessons from Peter for 3 years and he has been an excellent teacher. He is very patient and encouraging while making the lessons fun. He has helped me progress with all aspects of learning the guitar and I would recommend him to anybody that is looking for a great guitar teacher. He has been able to teach me songs the are current and retro really any song I have wanted to learn

Peter makes lessons fun, he easily manages an excited 10 year old and 6 year old, keeping their attention for the whole lesson while incorporating learning with a good mix of games. My two always look forward to their lessons and Peter takes time to listen to what they would like to do. Peter always gives a great update on progress at the end of each lesson and we really notice progress week to week with their guitar playing

Being a great guitarist doesn't necessarily mean being a good tutor, but fortunately Pete is both. My knowledge and ability rapidly improved thanks to his patience and ability to adapt to my requirements and learning style, all during sessions that were a lot of fun
Musician
As a guitarist I regularly play live around the UK for bands at at events and functions. Entertaining people never gets old especially when it forms part of someone's special occasion. Playing for a function band as well as working freelance in that space means having a large repertoire of songs as well as constantly learning new material - luckily I love music of all genre's and never get bored, so it is always a joy!
Session recording work also forms part of what, recording for artists of a range of different styles. It is work that I greatly enjoy, as the opportunity work within the context of what an artist is looking for is a great and fulfilling artistic challenge.
